Make Money From Websites

1 min read

1. Sell Products (Physical or Digital)

  • E-commerce: Sell your own merch, art, clothes, accessories, etc.
  • Digital products: Ebooks, templates, presets, online courses, music, code, stock photos.
  • Use platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, or Gumroad.

2. Offer Services

Your site becomes your sales funnel for:

  • Freelancing (design, writing, dev, marketing, etc.)
  • Coaching/consulting
  • Virtual assistance
  • Photography, tutoring, editing, etc.

Add a portfolio, testimonials, and contact form = win.

3. Affiliate Marketing

Recommend products you love and earn a commission per sale.

  • Amazon Associates, ShareASale, Impact, etc.
  • Works well with blogs, niche review sites, or tutorial sites. Just don’t overdo it—keep it trustworthy.

4. Create a Paid Membership or Community

Charge for access to:

  • Premium content
  • Private forums/Discord
  • Exclusive downloads or tools
  • Online courses or coaching

Tools like Memberstack, Patreon, or Circle make it easy.

5. Advertising (Carefully)

  • Use Google AdSense or direct ad placements.
  • Better for sites with lots of traffic (think blogs, news, forums).
  • Too many ads can turn people off, so balance is key.

6. Build a Newsletter & Monetize It

Grow an email list from your site and:

  • Promote products
  • Sell sponsorships
  • Launch paid newsletter tiers Email = $$ long term. Tools: ConvertKit, Substack, Mailchimp.

7. Content Monetization

If your site hosts content (blog, podcast, videos):

  • Add sponsorships and donation buttons (Buy Me a Coffee, Ko-fi)
  • Gate premium content
  • Sell behind-the-scenes access

8. Sell Access to Tools or Web Apps

If you’re a dev, build a SaaS or niche tool and sell subscriptions or lifetime licenses. Could be:

  • Productivity tools
  • Calculators
  • Generative AI tools
  • Budget planners, etc.

9. Dropshipping or Print-on-Demand

No inventory needed—just sell the product, and someone else handles fulfillment. Sites like Printful, Teespring, or Oberlo help.

10. Sell the Website Itself

Build a niche site, grow it, then flip it for profit. Platforms like Flippa or Empire Flippers are full of people doing this.
